Physical Goals:
- A child’s body whose movements are both mastered and controlled
- The fine motor coordination necessary for writing and manipulation of materials in the classroom and home environments.
- The ability to perform in physical sports whose skills may be carried into adulthood.
Emotional Skills:
- An awareness of ones self and ones own feelings and the ability to express these feelings appropriately.
- Sensitivity to, and considerations for the feelings of others
- Goal: A positive self-image
Intellectual Skills:
- The mastery of the necessary tools or skills such as reading, speaking, writing and other forms of communication in order to be able to become responsible in the pursuit of knowledge.
- An understanding of how to research and find information and how to evaluate that information using various media sources such as computer and technology skills.
- Goal: A learner who is self-directed and independent of the teacher
Creativity and Fine Arts:
- An appreciation for a wide variety of fine arts including music, art, art history, cultural practices, and forms of dance.
- The satisfaction of being able to express oneself creatively in a number of ways through a variety of disciplines.
Content Goals:
- An understanding of the evolution of life as well as a deep, enriching feeling of responsibility toward aiding further human and intellectual evolution.
- An understanding that all people have the same basic needs as unique individuals and developing an appreciation for the variety of different ways those needs may be met.
- An awareness of the interdependence of man and nature and nations, with a desire for cooperation and peace among all living things.
